How to apply

Who can apply?

Residents of European countries (including Russia, Turkey and Israel) who are affiliated with a university, research institution or hospital, and whose research originates primarily in Europe.

How to apply:
(submission of applications is closed - deadline was 15 January 2012)

Please send the following electronic documents to the ECNP Award Committee:

  • A short statement (1 page), explaining the significance, innovative value and core theme(s) of the applicant’s contribution to neuropsychopharmacology.
  • A summary curriculum vitae

If you know a suitable candidate you may also submit an application on their behalf.

Please note: the award winner will be requested to submit a review article for publication in European Neuropsychopharmacology within six (6) months after the award is granted.

The award winner will be honoured with:

  • An unrestricted prize of € 20,000
  • A commemorative silver plaque
  • An invitation to present the award plenary lecture during the ECNP Congress
  • A review article for publication in European Neuropsychopharmacology (to be submitted within six months after the award is granted)

Confirmation:

Receipt of your application will be confirmed by the ECNP Office by e-mail within two weeks after submission.

If you have not received a confirmation within this period, please notify the ECNP Office at +31 30 253 8567.

Evaluation:

All applications are reviewed by the ECNP Award Committee. First, the Award Committee will make a shortlist of possible winners. Short-listed applicants may be asked to submit additional information before a final decision is taken.

The applicants will be informed about the decision before 1 May 2012. There will be no correspondence about the outcome.

Please note: members of the ECNP Executive Committee, the chair of the Scientific Programme Committee and the members of the Award Committee are not eligible for application.

Receiving the award:

The award will be presented during the welcome ceremony of the 25th ECNP Congress, 13-17 October 2012, Vienna, Austria
