Guidelines
Papers will be considered for publication and/or presentation provided they are submitted according to the guidelines for paper submission and if registration and full payment have been received before 19 March 2012, 12.00 CET. The guidelines are mentioned below and can also be followed while
submitting online.
Papers should be prepared strictly according to the following instructions:
Content
- Papers should include:
- Purpose of the study
- Methods used
- Summary of results containing real data and appropriate statistical assessments
- Conclusions
- Papers must report on high quality original research in the field of neuropsychopharmacology that has not been published whole or in part elsewhere.
- The statements, in particular in the conclusion section, should be balanced.
- No abbreviations or trade names are allowed in the title. However, the generic name may be used.
- Use standard abbreviations for well established neuropsychopharmaceuticals. Place unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears. Clearly identify all neuropsychopharmaceuticals used.
- Please indicate on the paper form the topic of your communication and field of research. You are requested to tick one box only.
- Disclosure statement regarding the paper is requested.
Layout
- Papers must be submitted in English.
- Papers must be written in Times New Roman, font size 10.
- Type the paper text in single spacing.
- Papers should have a minimum of 450 and a maximum of 500 words.
- The use of underlined and italics is not permitted. Words that need emphasis should be bold type.
- Only one table is allowed, please note that graphs and pictures cannot be included.
References
- No more than three references to previous publications may be included. In the body text, a publication should be referred to by a consecutive number between brackets, i.e. [1], [2] and [3]. The references should be provided in accordance with the following example:
[1] Chamberlain, S.R., Hampshire, A., Muller, U., Rubia, K., Del Campo, N., 2009. Atomoxetine modulates right inferior frontal activation during inhibitory control. A pharmacological functional magnetic resonance imaging study. Biol Psychiatry 65, 550-555.
Keywords
- Please select three keywords from the list of keywords. A keyword index will be published in the supplement to the journal European Neuropsychopharmacology.
Authors
- Insert the author's name(s) and address(es) of the institution as indicated on the on-line form. Do not add: Prof, Dr, etc.
- State your name as presenting author
Confirmation
Receipt of your submission will be confirmed by the ECNP Office via e-mail within two weeks. If you have not received a confirmation within this period, please notify the ECNP Office.
If it is not possible to submit your paper via internet, please contact the ECNP Office.
Papers sent by fax, floppy disk, CD-Rom or e-mail will not be accepted.
Registration
A paper is eligible for review if registration and full payment have been received on or before the submission deadline.
If due to institute regulations you can not pay the registration fee before the outcome of the review of your paper, you can sign this document and send it to the organising secretariat, declaring that we can charge your credit card once your paper is accepted (July 2012). On the online registration form please click on payment by bank transfer and send in the payment declaration.
If your paper is not accepted for publication and/or presentation, you can cancel your registration free of charge within 14 days after receiving the message that your paper has been rejected and the registration fee paid will be returned within 30 days after the outcome.
