ECNP supported educational symposia
at national meetings
Members of the advisory board of national societies can apply for financial support for an ECNP supported educational symposium during the (annual) meeting of their national society. A maximum of 4 applications per year will be granted. A national society can apply for support once every three years.
In return of the funding ECNP expects:
- The symposium to receive a favourable time slot.
- Presentation of ECNP slides by the chair at the start of the symposium.
- That the logistical organisation of the ECNP supported educational symposium is taken care of by the national society.
The application should include:
- A letter explaining the purpose and content of the symposium and why it is appropriate for ECNP to fund it. The letter should be from the president or secretary of the society.
- The proposed programme of the symposium for review by the chair of the Scientific Programme Committee, including:
- Symposium title and proposed chair(s).
- Proposal of speakers and the title of their presentation or a request for ECNP to suggest speakers (there will be no honorarium for the speakers).
- The proposed date and time of the symposium within the annual meeting scientific programme.
- A transparent budget, for review by the treasurer of ECNP, including costs of travel (economy class) and accommodation of faculty. No other budget items are allowed.
- A clear indication of who will administer both this symposium budget and the budget
of the national meeting as a whole.
Applications can be sent by e-mail to the ECNP Office, for the attention of Department Congresses and Meetings with reference ‘Application for ECNP supported educational symposium’. The applications will be reviewed for approval and an answer can be expected within three weeks.
If the application is approved, and after the symposium has taken place, the ECNP Office needs to receive:
- An overview of the actual costs (within the approved budget), with copies of invoices of the accommodation and transport or declarations received, and information of the name of the beneficiary, bank account, bank address, IBAN and BIC number in order to transfer the money. The support is only transferred to the national society in one go. No reimbursement is made to individual speakers or chairs.
- A report of the ECNP Symposium which could be published in our newsletter ECNP Matters (maximum of 600 words).
Please note: The actual support approved will only be transferred if the above mentioned documents have been received in full within three months after the symposium.
