ECNP Congress programme spotlight: Julianne Holt-Lunstad
The second of our interviews with key people in the field is with Julianne Holt-Lunstad, professor of psychology and neuroscience at Brigham Young University, USA.
Dr. Holt-Lunstad’s research is focused on the long-term health effects of social connection. Her work has been seminal in the recognition of social isolation and loneliness as risk factors for early mortality.
She will be speaking at the 33rd ECNP Congress Virtual, on 15 September 2020, in the Plenary Lecture “The meta-analysis on loneliness”.

New application deadline!
Due to the ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods transformation into a virtual meeting the application is re-opened until 1 September 2020.
The workshop aims at introducing junior clinicians (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, etc) into research methodology and to promote a critical thinking approach to the scientific literature that is particularly relevant to clinical practice.

Online Machine Learning School by the ECNP Neuroimaging Network
ECNP will support the Machine Learning School organised by the ECNP Neuroimaging Network and the Section for Neurodiagnostic Applications of LMU, Munich, Germany. The online school will take place from 8 to 11 September 2020.
The aim of the school is to introduce you to psychiatric machine learning with a specific focus on neuroimaging. The organisers will offer a refund on their registration fee to ECNP members.

New ECNP Network
Digital approaches are rapidly changing traditional ways of diagnosis, monitoring, management, and treatment of brain disorders.
In response to these ongoing developments, a new ECNP Network has been instituted: the ECNP Digital Health applied to the clinical research of brain disorders Network.
The direction of this new network is to gather European experts within the field of digital health with the goal of establishing a collaborating network and platform to work across nations to continuously produce, update and spread out state-of-the-art guidelines for future studies and clinical practice within the field of digital health applied to clinical research.
