Membership

Ordinary
Ordinary members are expected to be active in the field of applied and translational neuroscience and resident in Europe. Only ordinary members have the right to vote at the General Assembly and to hold office in the Executive Committee. 

Associate
Associate membership is available up to the age of 40 to those who are actively engaged in or interested in research in applied and translational neuroscience and are resident in Europe, but who may not yet fulfil the requirements of ordinary membership. Associate membership is for a period of five years maximum. It is especially recommended for Early Career Scientists. Associate membership does not carry voting rights.

Fellow
Fellow membership recognises the achievements of distinguished ordinary members. Fellows are selected by the Executive Committee on the basis of both their excellence as researchers and their contributions to the ECNP association. Fellow members are appointed for three years. There is no limit to how many times this may be renewed.

Emeritus
Emeritus membership is available to longstanding ECNP members (ten years or more) who are at least 65 years of age and have officially retired. Please contact the ECNP Office if you are eligible for Emeritus membership.

Honorary
Honorary membership is awarded to scientists of outstanding distinction by the General Meeting of members upon recommendation by the Executive Committee. View the members list here.

Corresponding
Corresponding membership is available for researchers in the field of applied and translational neuroscience who are not permanently resident in Europe. Corresponding membership does not carry voting rights. Corresponding members cannot hold office in the Executive Committee.
