ECNP Congress programme spotlight: Silke Matura
The first of our interviews with key people in the field is with Silke Matura, researcher at the Klinik für Psychiatrie, Psychosomatik und Psychotherapie Klinikum der J.W.Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt, Germany.
Professor Matura talks about her work, what it means, and what it says about the future of applied neuroscience.
She will be speaking at the 33rd ECNP Congress Virtual, 12-15 September 2020 as part of the symposium “Mediterranean diet, probiotics and micronutrients: can they improve mental health?”

2021 ECNP Workshop - Submit your abstract
ECNP Workshop for Early Career Scientists in Europe
Designed to stimulate high-quality experimental and clinical research in brain disorders and their treatments, the ECNP Workshop offers 100 early career scientists three days of intense scientific interaction with an international faculty of research leaders in experimental and clinical neuroscience.
- Key topics: molecular and cellular, behavioural and systems, clinical neuroscience
- Special topic 2021: neuromodulation
- 100 early career scientists
- Poster presentations by all participants
- 20 participants funded to present at the ECNP Congress
The next ECNP Workshop will take place on 4-7 March 2021, in Nice, France.
Registration, accommodation and meals are all provided free by ECNP. Application is by means of abstract submission.

ECNP Workshop Barcelona: apply now!
This year, due to the corona crisis, the ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods, 11-13 November 2020 in Barcelona, Spain will be held virtually.
Early career scientists who would like to attend the Workshop, can apply until 4 August via the button below.
This Workshop aims at introducing early career clinicians (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, etc.) into research methodology and to promoting critical approaches to clinically relevant scientific literature.

EBRA output ECNP Networks
Members of the ECNP Down Syndrome and Other Genetic Develop. Disorders Network (DSG2D) and the ECNP Nutrition Network have been selected to become EBRA research clusters – becoming TRISOMY21 and BRAINFOOD respectively.
The European Brain Research Area project — EBRA — was created as a catalysing initiative for brain research stakeholders (researchers, clinicians, patients, governments, funders and public institutions) to streamline and better co-ordinate brain research across Europe while fostering global initiatives.
Congratulations to Network chairs Marie-Claude Potier and Mara Dierssen (DSG2D) and Roger Adan and Suzanne Dickson (Nutrition).

Please be aware that there are several registration websites, entirely unconnected to ECNP, who have created fake and misleading websites, offering registration for the ECNP Congress. Some even try to sell registration by phone. These organisations are not linked to ECNP and are using our name and /or logo without authorisation.
The only reliable sources of information about the ECNP Congress are the official ECNP websites www.ecnp.eu and www.ecnp.eu/Congress2020.
ECNP does not call people to sell things related to the congress or ask for credit card details by phone.
If you suspect you are being targeted by a fraudulent website or have received possible scam e-mails, let us know!
