Traumatic stress
The Traumatic Stress TNM will assess new research directed at a better understanding of the relation between trauma and stress related disorders. Memory was chosen as the central and critical endophenotype for these disorders. The meeting will start with a presentation and discussion of molecular biological research about the scientific evidence for a vulnerable phenotype for PTSD. Then we will look into mechanisms and translational issues of traumatic memory processes, including new concepts like ‘memory engrams’ and memory reconsolidation. Finally opportunities will be explored for rational pharmacotherapy for traumatic and stress related disorders, in which so called ‘golden hours’ can serve as new opportunities. In discussing these topics the meeting will explore a roadmap for translational and clinical research and opportunities for possible collaborations.
Meeting venue: Amsterdam RAI (Elicium building, level 2)
Address: Europaplein, 1078 GZ Amsterdam
