Programme Committee
The membership of the programme committee is designed to represent a cross-section of the leading academic researchers, industry scientists, regulators and patient representatives in the precision psychiatry field. The committee is responsible for developing the programme of the meeting and for guiding the ongoing discussion the meeting is designed to stimulate. All members sit in their personal capacity as independent subject-matter experts.
Martien Kas, The Netherlands, Chair
Martien Kas is professor of behavioural neuroscience at the University of Groningen’s Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences and president of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP). He is also an editorial board member of Mammalian Genome and project co-ordinator of the IMI-funded PRISM 2 project.

Derek Buhl is the scientific director precision medicine – Neuroscience – at AbbVie Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts.
Peter Falkai, Germany
Peter Falkai is chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and a member of the steering committee of the International Max Planck Research School for Translational Neuroscience in Munich.
Nitin Gogtay, USA
Nitin Gogtay is chief of the Division of Research and deputy medical director at the American Psychiatric Association, overseeing the development and maintenance of the DSM and the APA’s PsychPRO registry.
Christoph von der Goltz, Germany
Christoph von der Goltz is vice president and global head of Medicine CNS & EA at Boehringer Ingelheim.
Péter Kéri, Hungary
Péter Kéri is the president of the European mental health advocacy GAMIAN-Europe, as well as helping to run the Awakenings Foundation in Hungary.
Gitte Moos Knudsen, Denmark
Gitte Moos Knudsen is the chief neurologist at the Department of Neurology and chairman of the Neurobiology Research Unit at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, and professor of clinical neurobiology at the University of Copenhagen. She is currently the ECNP past-president.
Ewa Bałkowiec-Iskra, Poland
Ewa Bałkowiec-Iskra is chair of the Medicinal Products Committee at the Polish Office for the Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products, and is a member of the European Medicine Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP).
Johan Luthman, Denmark
Johan Luthman is executive vice president of R&D, including medical affairs, at Lundbeck A/S.
Brenda Penninx, The Netherlands
Brenda Penninx is professor of psychiatric epidemiology at the Department of Psychiatry at Amsterdam UMC and leader of the the multi-site Netherlands Study of Depression and Anxiety (NESDA). She also serves as the vice-president of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences and is the treasurer of ECNP.
Andreas Reif, Germany
Andreas Reif is the chair of the Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. He is also the ECNP president-elect.
