Deadline
The deadline to submit your abstract is 8 May 2025 at 23.39 CEST (Central European Summer Time).

Who can submit an abstract?
Abstracts can be submitted by professionals from across the world who are keen on discussing the latest developments in the science and treatment of brain disorders.

Non-standard abstract(s)
It is also possible to submit a non-standard abstract. For example, clinical cases, literature reviews and research proposals. 

How to submit
Abstracts should be submitted using these guidelines.

Please note:

  • Registration for the congress by the presenting author is mandatory to be able to present a poster, 
  • Once the abstract is submitted, no further changes will be allowed. It is allowed to add new data to the poster that is presented at the congress, but the abstract will remain the same as submitted.

Registration
Only presenting authors can submit an abstract and all abstract submitters must be registered for the congress before they are able to present a poster.

For in-person presentation in Amsterdam, you have to register for an in-person fee.

If you only want to present the poster online, you have to register for virtual participation fee.

Any changes in registration type will result in changing the type of poster presentation.
Please read the registration terms and conditions as costs are charged for changing the registration type.

The registration deadline for poster presenters is 23 July 2025 at 23.59 CEST (Central European Summer Time).

  • Consider if you are interested in having us review your abstract as part of our media programme. In case of interest, prepare a motivation statement (max 100 words).

Review
Your abstract will be reviewed, if submitted according to the guidelines, in the period between 16 May and 16 July 2025. Abstracts accepted for poster presentation will receive one of the following outcomes:

  • In-person presentation by means of a paper poster in Amsterdam

  • Presentation by means of an electronic poster incl. narration and/or video online

  • Publication of the abstract in the digital congress supplement to the open access ECNP journal Neuroscience Applied

Publication
Abstracts accepted for publication will be published in a digital supplement to the open access journal Neuroscience Applied. The supplement of the journal will be available online in Mid-December 2025. The abstracts accepted for presentation and/or publication will be added to the congress programme, app and congress platform.

ECNP Excellence Award

ECNP Excellence Award Excellent work might be rewarded with an ECNP Excellence Award.
Early Career Scientists (according to the criteria) and/or residents of a European Country with a Developing Economy (CDE)* are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster presentation.
*CDE-countries within Europe are: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Republic of North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine.
