Especially it is encouraged further research on the gut-brain-axis including intestinal microbiome changes and further research in neuronal brain circuit alterations including neurotransmitter changes.'

Now that metreleptin is approved for the treatment of lipodystrophy a window of opportunity was created to test this drug in anorexia nervosa patients. In an open label study metreleptin improved mood and cognition over days following initiation of treatment. This is a potential game changer for a disease where no pharmacotherapy is available.'
